Make: Article About the StompBox

Due to Appear in Make:'s Volume 03

Shortly after this site was Slashdotted, it got a lot of notice around the gadget industry. Within a few days I'd gotten an email from the editors of Make: magazine, an O'Reilly publication. I'd seen the first issue and was highly impressed. Getting an invite from them to write an article was an honor.

After a bit of negotiation and batting around a few ideas, the article was accepted and slated to appear in an upcoming issue. As part of the agreement I promised not to release what I'd written (which was far more detailed than the original how-to) until 30 days after the issue of Make: hit the stores. Once that timer is up, I will post the article here in HTML and PDF formats, under the same creative-commons licensing as the rest of the site.

Until then, check out the other cool projects in Make: if you get the chance. The preview of Volume 03 is online and the Stompbox article appears on the Table of Contents page. There's a short blurb about the article itself, followed by an amusingly brief bio.

Check back here after the 30 days is up. Not only will I post the article but I'll be adding updates to it as some things have changed (for the better!) since the original article was written. Also, don't forget to head over to the forums if you want to build one of your own!
